Trusts

Community Fund Management Foundation (CFMF) currently offers 3 trust accounts. Each trust account is explained in detail below. Trust accounts can also be established through one of our partnership organizations. Select Partnerships for more information.

Master Trust

"What will happen when I'm gone?"

The biggest worry parents, relatives, and friends of people with disabilities have is how to provide for the welfare of their loved ones, particularly after they themselves have died.

In Ohio, it is difficult for people of limited financial resources to leave much to a family member or friend with a disability, especially when that individual receives government benefits such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, subsidized housing, and other special programs that have income and/or resource eligibility limits.

The Master Trust can help family members and friends provide for their loved one with a disability and make funds available to them for things like recreation, furniture, a telephone, travel, dentures, or an electric wheelchair.

The Community Fund Management Foundation (CFMF) Master Trust allows family members and friends of an individual with a disability to provide funds for their loved one in a way that safeguards their eligibility for government benefits.

Funds to establish the trust account are provided by family members or friends and can be in the form of cash or funds left through a will or life insurance.

A Master Trust can be established with as little as $15,000 and there is no maximum dollar amount for the trust account. Once established, funds can be added to a Master Trust at any time.
